Navratri is the festival that celebrates the nine form of goddess durga for nine days and nine nights prior to Dusshera. Like most Indian religious festivals fasts are kept during Navratri as well. Keeping a fast needn’t mean starving yourself. Certain ‘fast food’ can be consumed. Follow an alkaline diet that will help you get relief from acidity. Create recipes with the limited ingredients that are permitted during the fasts. Almonds and other dried fruits, milk, coconut water, rajgira and other such ingredients can be used to create some different and tasty recipes for your family and friends. So this Navratri season fasting is feasting.
